Summary: When their fifteen-year-old juvenile delinquent son gets too rambunctious, the Watson family heads from their Michigan home to Grandma Sands in Birmingham, Alabama, in the summer of 1963. There they encounter overt racism and segregation, and a tragic historic event that will change their lives and country forever.
